Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Director of the Planning Authority - Mr. Yossi Yishai

Education

B.A in Economy from Ben-Gurion University, and M.A in Business Management from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem;

 

Activity

Since 1976 he had served in various positions in the Ministry of Agriculture, including Ministry’s Director General (1999-2001 and 2003-2006) and Ministry’s Deputy Director-General and Director of the Planning Authority (2001-2003). Under the framework of these positions he was in charge of agricultural planning; management policy of agricultural means of production - water, soil and foreign workers; physical and statutory planning of agricultural settlement and rural space development.

During 1993-1999, he served as Director-General of the Administration of Agricultural Sector Arrangement (A governmental company that was created for the implementation of the “Gal Law”). Under this position, he handled the arrangement of the debts of Moshavim, farmers and purchasing organizations to banks and creditors, and revocation of the reciprocal guarantee.

During 1976-1993, he occupied several positions in the Planning and Credit Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. During 1987-1989 and 1992-1993 he served as the Department’s Director.

During 1992-1994, he served as Director-General of the Administration for the Moshavim Economy National Arrangement (“Ravid Arrangement”), and during 1981-1983 he served as Director-General of the Administration for the Evacuation and Compensation of the Sainai and Yamit Region Evacuees.

Starting at 1972, and until joining the Ministry of Agriculture at 1976, he had worked as coordinator and treasurer of Moshav Gilat.
