Weather Forecasting:

Forecasts of up to 5 days in advanced for 19 stations, which represent different geo-climatic areas throughout the country. The forecasts refer to a wide range of climatic parameters on the micro level such as: temperature, wind and precipitation measurements.

The Chief Scientist's Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture coordinates the activities relating to the determination and implementation of the governmental research and development in those fields designated on the basis of the Ministry of Agriculture's objectives.

The Chief Scientist's website details the structure of the Scientist's bureau, procedures and regulations for submitting research proposals to the fund, the preferred objectives (according to manifestos) and the procedures for authorization and implementation of the researches.

The Plant Protection and Inspection Services operate within the framework of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and constitute the branch responsible for the enforcement of laws and regulations and for the provision of professional services in the realms of plant protection, monitoring and prevention of plant diseases and the import and export of agricultural produce.

The Agricultural Research Organization is the largest institute in Israel involved in agricultural research and is considered one of the most well known in the world. Its main functions are to assist the Israeli farmer in solving a number of different problems, to conduct research and development in promising new agricultural fields and food sciences, and to plan, organize and implement agricultural research in Israel.

The Agricultural Extension Service of the Ministry of Agriculture deals with three main fields:

·   Agricultural guidance for

     the Israeli farmer.

·   Agricultural training.

·   Creation of knowledge.

The Veterinary Services were established in 1920 and constitute a supporting unit of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The Centre for International Agricultural Development Cooperation (CINADCO) acts as the main entity within the ministries of Agriculture and Foreign Affairs with regards to agro-technical cooperation activities (Technical Cooperation) with developing countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.
