The Flora and Fauna Supervision Unit operates to fulfill its objective: inspecting the transfer of agricultural produce from Gaza and the Judea and Samaria region into Israel, and preventing entry of prohibited produce, including animals and animal products; implementing the agricultural agreements between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

The Flora and Fauna Supervision Unit implements and enforces these agreements in border crossings and through patrols, intelligence work, operations, investigations, preparation of legal cases against perpetrators, and building up a deterrence capacity that will help channel the transport of agricultural goods to the official border crossings only.

The Flora and Fauna Supervision unit adjusts its operations to the current reality and conditions along the borderland between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, the security fence, checkpoints, agricultural gates and merchandise crossings.
