Freedom of Information Law

In accordance with the Freedom of Information Law (1998), every Israeli citizen or resident has the right to obtain information from a public authority (written, recorded, filmed, photographed, or computerized). According to the Freedom of Information Law, the handling of enquiries to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development derives primarily from the approach that openness and transparency are the authority's obligation to the citizen.

The Freedom of Information Law determines the citizen's rights to obtain information from the public authorities, and the authority's obligation to provide the information.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development tries to implement not only the letter of the law, down to its particulars and fine details, but also its spirit, with meticulousness and particular care towards the rights of those making inquiries, as well as the rights of the objects of the inquiry.
