The Inspection Unit
The Inspection Unit was founded as an independent unit that was supposed to enforce the Forest Ordinance.
The Unit operates under the authority of the Forest Commissioner of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The Unit operates in forest areas that are administered by the Jewish National Fund, in order to ensure that the forest is safe and unharmed, and that the cutting-down of trees and forest-handling are carried out in accordance with the plans that were approved by the Forest Commissioner.
In areas that are not administered by the Jewish National Fund, the Unit operates to preserve protected trees, wherever they may be.
In any case of suspected harm to a protected tree, any of the Unit’s personnel may be approached, as specified in the attached table above.
