The Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Government ICT Authority, have launched a personal area on mygov that will also include your pets, and will provide you with services tailored to you and your four-legged friend

Forgotten when you last vaccinated your dog? What will you do? Get out your dusty document folders and search, call the veterinary clinic, wait for the holiday meal to ask your aunt. From now on, we've spared you all the fuss (except the meal with the aunt)! The Ministry of Agriculture provides you with all the information about your beloved pet at the click of a button.

The Ministry of Agriculture, in conjunction with the e-government unit  at the Government Accounting ICT Authority, are providing you with direct access to all the information about your dog, thus enabling you to keep track of all the necessary information: all personal information about you and your dog, history of rabies vaccinations, and customized alerts: when the vaccine is about to expire and you should pay a visit to your veterinarian to vaccinate your dog, until when the dog's license is valid, whether it is sterilized, whether it is neutered, its chip number and more.
With the launch of the new version of my.gov.il, you will also be sent an alert prior to the expiry date of your dog registration license, as well as when you need to vaccinate it against rabies.

mygov is a personal government area that offers citizens access to information and actions related to all government offices. This personal area links the data from the Ministry of Agriculture's National Dog Registration Database to the "personal area" on the government website (www.gov.il). All you have to do is create an account in your personal area and start browsing. The new system identifies the user and provides access to the services relevant to the specific user.

The information in the "personal area" is, as said, retrieved from the Ministry of Agriculture's National Dog Registration Database, which contains the details of all dogs registered in Israel based on the owner's name. The details of the dogs registered in the database are obtained from the veterinary departments of local authorities and councils throughout the country, and this registration serves as a dog ID and part of the "dog population register" in Israel. Using the information in the database, we can return lost dogs to their owners and prevent sad cases in which the owners of lost dogs are not found. Also, in the event of a bite or attack, it is possible to obtain the details of the dog, the validity of its license and its rabies vaccine, based on the owner's information. The Ministry of Agriculture recommends that all dog owners check the database or "personal area" to make sure that their dog's information is correct so as to enable them to speedily locate their dog if it is lost.
