Integrated Pest Management

Moving from “conventional” chemical pest control to an Integrated Pest Management interface, including biological and chemical pest control, is a major iniative in the field of plant protection, with the aim of intelligently addressing damage to agricultural crops while reducing the use of pesticides in agricultural produce.

Implementing the move to Integrated Pest Management is based on a multi-year process, with the main partners being the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and, of course, the farmers. The Ministry is acting to encourage farmers to change to pest control methods of this type, by providing financial support, guidance for farmers, and researching the topic.
